Dan,
I have thousands of styles that are playing on vArranger.  Of course, not all of them are of use to me and I want to delete them from the folders.  Right now I must exit vArranger and go to the data folder to do the deletions.

It would be really great if, while auditioning styles, the styles could be deleted right from the vArranger page with a simple right click and delete function.

If implemented . As  long as as we are asked to confirm the deletion to prevent accidental erasures.
Like "are you sure ".....

Also style may be in more than one folder so would need to ask if all same styles from all folders are to be deleted.

Jon,
For what I do with my styles it would not be important to delete them from other folders.  I am auditioning styles and simply want to get rid of the ones that either don't play really well, require to much work to make play well, or simply do not fit my style of playing.  I always make use a "backup" of the styles for this and keep all the original styles.  I end up with all the originals and a folder with only those I will really use for my gigs.

Hi Deane,

On the MY SONGS bar, there is 2 links : 'My Songs Folder...' and 'Refresh'
You don't have to close vArranger every time you delete a file, but click on 'My Songs Folder...' , delete the file, then click on 'Refresh'.

By your advice, I will add this feature on the next version :

Right click on a song, and press DELETE. It will display the files to delete and ask for a confirmation.
Note that it will delete the style, the style2 and the other files linked on the SCORE folder

Thanks Dan,
I think there is an opportunity here to create a huge collection of styles in all genres that members have developed or improved.  I am finding styles from all kinds of keyboards that have been converted for Yamaha keyboards that will work on vArranger and with a little adjustment sound really nice.

I usually rename a style for the name of a song I use it with.  I will start posting them in the near future as I get groups of them completed.  I organize my styles in what I call "Gig Sets" which are usually sets of 30 songs.  Perhaps others could do the same and we all will benefit.

Deane

Dan,
Thank you, I missed that one - will come in very handy.

Deane,
Your suggestion will be useful but modifications need to try and suit how other users use and manage their music.
Thats why I pointed out about the confirmation before deletion and any sub folders containing the same style.
Anyway you seem to appreciate how vArranger is the future. Not arranger modules that cannot be upgraded without expensive replacement like tyros every 2 years etc.
How do you manage your fill pedals and volume pedals?

Deane

Hi Jon,
I do not use any pedals.

Deane,
So how do you ballance between "style" volume and "right" hand volume in live style play?
In right hand playing , everytime I change a voice I find each instrument has different volumes and need to adjust their volumes with a "right" volume pedal throughout the same song.
Also how do you trigger fills/endings whilst playing?
jon

Dan

Deane is a pianist and own this keyboard http://www.roland.com/products/en/A-800PRO/

There is a lot of buttons and sliders to triggers functions and change volumes.

Jon is accordionist, with 2 hands on the instrument. He is changing functions and volumes with footpedals.

Jon,
I try to adjust each style and rename it to the song title.  So far that is
working out for me.  Lots of work up front but good results that last.
