Hi
Dan ,
Igor Electronician.
please help me. I bought an old tones generator Yamaha MU 90R .When I used it with my HP probook 6560b laptop, I connected it from the 8-pin mini din port of the MU90R to the 9-pin serial port of the HP laptop at that time vArrang2 didn't recognize it, does not appear in the vAranger2 Midi out options panel.
All other functions of MU90R are working fine.
Does vArranger2 not work with the serial port of HP laptop? or am I doing something wrong? please help me.
I hope to get an answer soon so I have posted this question in 2 places on the forum. Because of the time limit for returns.
Thank you
Hello,
Why do you use this port? This is very old way....
This need a driver to convert the serial port to a midi port
The Yamaha driver is here, but I don't think it will work on recent Windows version

Better for you to buy a Roland UM-ONE MKII to convert the midi port of the MU90R into USB
Hello,
Maybe this could help you:

Thanks Dan,
Thank you v.muller
I used the roland usb cable recommended by Dan, the results were perfect. now vAranger2 has received the Yamaha MU90R with the name UM ONE in the midi out board of vAranger2.
I spent 3 hard days with this.
Thank you
