Title: You Rock Guitar as Controller
Post by: 4partmusic on September 21, 2015, 09:29:39 PM
I am trying to get You Rock guitar to work as a midi controller.  http://www.yourockguitar.com/

I am getting varying results.

- Varranger recognizes the YRG (Gen 1)
- I have the output set to the VA synth.
- Using WASAPI sound output.
- Split point at C3
- Guitar is set to normal tuning.

Everything works but sometimes the system doesn't seem to be recognizing chords on the B, G, E strings of the guitar. The guitar has a tapping mode that allows you to just press the chords and they will play.  It seems that the guitar does a better job detecting chords.  I can play single notes on the lower strings and get it to work just fine.

Midi for all strings are set to Channel 1 but I think I can change that.  I am using the full keyboard setting.  I have set chord recognition sensitivity to as high as it will go.

Does anyone know other settings I should be looking at that might increase the consistency of response. It may be that I just need to upgrade to version II of the guitar but I want to make sure I don't have something set up wrong and can get performance to work fine with YRG.

Thanks,

Terry

Maybe you have set the chord recognition thresold too high.
