The nice thing now with 2.1.20 The styles from Genos2 play cleaner. I got the 800 styles in advance.
I'm talking about the sounds from Dan. My Halion7 runs well and stably with the new VST3. Unfortunately, you can't save it with the right hand. vArranger2 allows you to save it with the right hand is there a solution?

alpal01

May I ask where did you get the Genos2 styles ? - much appreciated.

alpal01

Paid for vArranger2 version 1.20.02 and received it - first problems are in the directions for installation, I am told to 'replace the old program with this new one, at the exact same place'- now, when you see that, you assume you get a installation location choice - nope, it 'auto installed' to where ever it liked (?) - 'fine', I located and opened the newly installed vArranger2 V 1.20.02 at the location 'it' decided to be - all my previous loaded files were missing, maybe to be expected when no installation target over write location option was provided - but also in this 'new' version, the RAM option is non-functional, as is the 'CPU' status non-functional.

Umm - the 'latest' version of vArranger 2 is only V1.20.02 - where did you get 2.1.20 from ??

Dan

2.1.20 does not exists. He means 1.20.02

Thanks Dan, appreciated.

Dan, i've buyed for new version but i've still got nothing about..

Dan

DjTony1981

Thanks you. This version work very well.  ;D

I take this opportunity to ask you if it is possible to implement this function:

Regardless of the type of style (roland, yamaha, ketron..), it would be useful to have a function that (at the user's choice) would play the fills like yamaha ones, that is, after the first bar ticks of the fill only the fill drum tracks riff would play (continuing to play the riff of bass/acc1-2-3 in the current variation), before the first bar the complete riff rtacks. I do not know if I was clear.

DjTony1981

There is still an unresolved problem from older versions, namely MIDI-OUT latency when using a USB-MIDI IN/OUT adapter. Often not all messages are captured by the expander (e.g. the KETRON SD1000) and causes failure to change the PC and/or incorrect CC values between style changes. Is it possible to implement ad MIDI-OUT latency control? A thousand thanks.

Dan

This Yamaha way is a bit strange. What is the goal? to do a softer fill-in from time to time, with only drums that changes?

If you have a problem with the midi, it is probably your midi interface.
What model of midi interface do you use?

DjTony1981

This is my midi cable:

ALESIS MIDI CABLE

This is an example of yamaha's fill, listen about auto-fill from VAR.B to VAR.C.

YAMAHA FILL

Dan

You can try using the sd1000 with usb cable and not midi. I think the midi cable is bad

What minute of the video? This is long :)

Look about minute 3:14-3:18

Hi Dan, you were right, I tried vArranger with a "Chinese" USB MIDI and it doesn't lose data on transmission.. probably for the ALESIS there is a buffering problem.. I just bought a "bespeco" interface which is similar, let's hope so. I wanted to ask you this fact: I am creating my personalized styles using the Yamaha *.sty format (as a former PSR-SX900 owner I found it excellent for parameterization), using my KETRON SD1000 with this configuration on vArranger. I would like to use the "PERC" channel with the DRUMS bank, how should I set the CC0 and CC32 to recognize the DRUMS bank rather than SOUNDS? A thousand thanks.

Dan

You can try to set the bank 0 MSB to 127 like Yamaha styles

DjTony1981

Hi Dan, the bespeco MIDI-USB interface works great!! I recommend it to everybody.  :D

I would like to ask you a request if possible: while an INTRO/ENDING riff is playing and you press a VARS while AUTO-FILL is set, it would be good for vArranger play the related fill during the transition (possibly only DRUMS track) before starts with VAR riff in the next measure.

Thank you. ;D

Hi Dan, back to this post:

Could you use the yamaha sysex F0,43,10,4C,08,NN,07,XX,F7 to recognize if a section is normal/drums?

It's explain there : http://www.studio4all.de/htmle/frameset090.html

Obviously in SD1000 mode so as not to use the CC0=127 bank. In this case we would avoid an image like this:

agaton

SysEx to make Midi Channel 9 to Drums Part on Ketron SD1000 is:  F0 26 7B 0F 00 08 01 F7

Dan

I use the Yamaha Sysex to detect if the track is a drums track, but only to fill the drum mixer section
As a user can change manually at anytime the sound of the drum track, and move from a drum track to a normal track, I don't rely on the sysex, but on what sound is actually selected
The name displayed on the track is displaying DRUMS and is displaying the program number
In SD1000 mode, The bank 127-0 is not sent to the SD1000, and the correct SD1000 Drums sysex is sent
If you really want to avoid this dispay, you should create a Ketron style, that has different rules

Let me know if it works OK beside the display of the instrument name

DjTony1981

Unfortunately, there is currently no software to create Ketron styles in a more detailed and simple way as for Yamaha.  For example the excellent StyleMagic YA that I use.  The only one capable of creating Ketron styles is the old Styleworks, but it has been the subject of discussions in the past on this forum as it doesn't offer good customization.

Dan,

Unlike the launch of version v1.19 update, (based on forum posts), it seems that there is less interest or enthusiasm for this v1.20 update.

Maybe listing of the new features and advantages would be helpful.

The Wizz.

The wizz is right!
I see other users that they've got the latest version and I was also tempted to get it, but without knowing if it brings something usefull for me or not, I prefers to not push the button!

Is this version anti-virus friendly ?

Based on PSR Tutorials Site, you can download Yamaha Genos 2 Styles "revoiced" for use on Tyros, Genos, SX900 and other accompaniment arrangers.

You can also download the original Genos 2 Factory Styles (unaltered).

Regards.

Where can I download the new version?
I tried to contact the developer thru the form on the website couple times but receive ZERO response...

The Wizz, could you point to the exact page where Genos 2 factory styles re-voiced for Genos could be found? Seems like their forum no longer works? My understanding this will be the best fit to be used with Dan's Genos soundfont?
