It requires only 4 External Connections:
(1) USB A MIDI Input to USB MIDI Host
(2) Audio Out (to Mixer Input)
(3) USB A Out (to Computer DAW)
(4) 120VAC Power Strip

It is completely portable self-contained
(excluding external mixer).
It has 3 MIDI Sound Modules/Engines:
MIDIPLUS miniEngine Pro
Miditech Pianobox
KETRON SD2 *(w/"vArranger2")

*UniversaMIDILab has "vArranger2" License USB Dongle (vActive.exe).
This allows me to install my 'Genuine Authorized'
"vArranger2" software on all my computers ...
I can then safely 'migrate' my UniversaMIDILab
to any given computer without having to uninstall/reinstall/license
my "vArranger2" software.

When connected by the Powered USB Hub Cable
to Computer all 3 Sound Engines can be utilized
simultaneously for 'live' play and record
of both midi an audio files with an auxiliary
DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

Optionally it can be used directly with any audio amp
system without the USB Hub Cable to Computer
(without KETRON SD2 w/"vArranger2" active)
to play MIDIPLUS miniEngine Pro and Miditech Pianobox
simultaneously.

The UniversaMIDILab setup requires no additional 'mapping' or additional 'routing' software ...

The essential MIDI routing hardware sequence:
Powered USB Midi Host -->
MIDI In/Thru -->
[MIDI Sound Modules/Engines]
USB Powered Tbox M3 MIDI In-Out-Thru -->
USB MIDI Interface -->

MIDIPLUS USB Host (USB A Connector) as the primary MIDI Input -->

Then connect its MIDI Out to MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru MIDI In -->

From there each MIDI Thru to additional MIDI In Sound Module/Engine (MIDIPLUS miniEngine Pro and Miditech Pianobox) ...
Also a Thru from same connected to MIDI In of USB Powered Tbox M3 MIDI In-Out-Thru -->

Then connect USB Powered Tbox M3 MIDI Thru to MIDI In of a typical Computer USB MIDI Interface (USB A In to (2) 5-Pin DIN MIDI In/Out) -->

Then MIDI Out of same Computer USB MIDI Interface to KETRON SD2 MIDI In -->

'VIrtual' MIDI software setup:
Then startup "vArranger2" [select 'Virtual MIDI' In/Out Ports as 'USB MIDI Interface' for both MIDI In and MIDI Out Ports] ...

Optionally also simultaneously startup a Computer DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) ...
be certain to startup "vArranger2" DAW first and then an auxiliary DAW ...
Then select 'Virtual MIDI In' of the Auxiliary DAW as 'Pianobox' ...
Also for the Auxiliary DAW select Audio Driver Type as 'ASIO' ...

Now it is possible to play and record (both a midi track and an audio track at the same time) 'live' with both "vArranger2" and an Auxiliary DAW operating simultaneously.

This is possible because "vArranger2" is utilizing the Computer USB MIDI Interface ...
It is also 'isolated' by the USB Powered Tbox M3 ...
The auxiliary DAW is utilizing the Pianobox MIDI Interface ...

Pianobox USB B MIDI Interface is a 'virtual host MIDI ports' interface providing completely separate MIDI In/Out.
It includes a drum machine that can also be activated simultaneously while using its sound engine.
