Hi all,

I've got a new Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 laptop with Core I7, 12G ram and 512G SSD drive. Pretty fast, however I'm experiencing latency using the vArranger vsti. I don't want to use an external sound module. Can someone lead me how to eliminate or reduce to minimum the latency. I'm planning to use a high end vsti soon.

Thanks
Jimmy

Do you use an external USB audio interface with its own ASIO driver, or ASIO4ALL?      I've had good results with both.  Actually, I run not only VST plug-ins but also other MIDI/DAW host at the same time by using ASIO Link.  Tell us a little bit more about your setup.

Dan

If you use the internal laptop audio phones outs, then you need to select a WASAPI device in the AUDIO OUT list, and it usually works very well with no perceptible latency

It worked better now, thanks Dan.

How much better is the Roland VSTi compared with the vArranger VSTi that came with vArranger2? Is equal or comparable with Roland hardware module?

Dan

It is 100% better, especially if you like to play Roland styles.
I can't compare a hardware synth with a software synth, even if many synthesis elements are similar, and that you can play good music with the 2 systems
Hardware synth have dedicated DSP for FX, lower latency etc... but Software synth can load fast huge soundbanks in memory, VST fx...

... and when you have one of the top audio interfaces and top computer configuration,
than is also the latency the same or sometimes shorter as by hardware instruments.
This highst level of audio gear is naturaly very expensive, but than, you have no limit.
You can configure your Sound Engine for vArrnger² from the best VST instruments and
VST effects.

Thanks Lakere, i'm using the internal sound card of my 2 in 1 laptop. I don't want any other external hardware except the midi controller and the vocal processor/harmonizer. n fact, I'm trying to minimize my setup.

Thanks Agaton, I just need a simple setup that can emulate my Roland E-A7 or a G70 without external sound module for live playing and not high quality recording. In my fact, my simplest setup right now is a Ketron SD40 and a 61 key Korg Microkey. The SD40 almost meets all my requirements except that is still buggy.

Dan, i'd like to try your Roland VSTi, do you have any discount right now?
Thanks

Dan

Hello Jimmy,
We don't have individual Soundbank discount.
the discount is actually when you buy 3 Soundbanks for 299€, you receive the 4th Soundbank for free.
However, you can buy the first one to try, and if you like it, complete the kit with the 3 other for 200€

Where is the audio device list? I can't find it

Dan

You need to buy vArranger
